    Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners Update 2.5

Cyberpunk 2077’s Edgerunners 2 update adds dual-wielding Power pistols and revolvers, new quests, console mod support, and cosmetic customization for arm cyberware. Patch 2.5 also brings a console FOV slider, graphics technology updates, and fixes for problems ranging from HDR settings to blocked quest progression.

With Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 arriving on Netflix, the update gives viewers a route back into the game and existing players more to explore. Its additions cover several different interests: combat builds, character customization, photography, modding, and the quieter pleasure of wandering around Night City.

I’m particularly interested in the combination of new activities and character options. A quest can bring players back for an evening, but a different version of V can make another playthrough tempting.

Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.5 Release Date and Platforms

CD Projekt Red announced October 22, 2026, as the release date for the Edgerunners 2 update on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Mac through Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store.

Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store version are scheduled to receive it in the following days. Players on those versions should account for the different rollout rather than assuming every platform updates simultaneously.

Double Trouble Adds Dual-Wielding to the Cool Tree

The new Double Trouble perk lets V dual-wield pistols and revolvers from the Power category. It belongs to the Cool tree and arrives with four auxiliary perks supporting the playstyle.

The weapon restriction matters. This is not an announcement of unrestricted dual-wielding across every handgun category, so players should check their equipment before planning a build.

How It Could Change a Gunslinger Build

The interesting opportunity is a different combat rhythm. A successful build should change how players approach encounters, whether through sustained pressure, movement, or target selection.

However, the announcement does not provide the damage calculations or detailed interactions needed to identify the strongest setup. Calling it the new meta would be premature.

Before committing perk points, preserve the current character setup in a manual save and compare several encounters. Useful things to watch include:

    • Accuracy at the distances normally used.
    • Time spent firing versus reloading.
    • Ammunition consumption.
    • Survivability when several enemies attack.
    • The abilities sacrificed elsewhere to support the build.

I’d judge it by how comfortably it handles a full fight, rather than by one impressive burst of damage. Two weapons are an appealing starting point; the supporting mechanics determine whether the build earns a permanent place.

Clampdown Connects the Game With Edgerunners 2

Clampdown is a new side quest set before the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. To unlock it, players must complete The Heist and two gigs for Wakako, then wait for her message.

The mission also provides an opportunity to obtain a five-piece gear set based on King.

For returning players, checking those requirements on an existing save is the quickest way to establish whether they are ready. There is no need to restart solely to reach the new activity if an older character already meets the conditions.

The prequel approach also gives the crossover a useful purpose: it can add context around the anime while leaving room for a self-contained mission. Its success will depend on whether the story remains engaging for players who do not recognize every connection.

HKGN 102.0 FM Brings Edgerunners Music Into the Game

The update introduces HKGN 102.0 FM, a radio station featuring selected tracks from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series.

It is a smaller addition than a quest, but music can influence how familiar journeys feel. Players who normally fast-travel between objectives have another reason to take a drive and spend time in the setting.

Welcome to Paradise: The New Night City Tours Quest

Welcome to Paradise combines a guided tour narrated by Richard Night with a mystery to investigate. It becomes available after completing The Heist and reaching Street Cred level 15.

That requirement refers to Street Cred, so players checking eligibility should look at the correct progression measure.

A tour offers a different pace from the usual rush between jobs. Night City’s architecture, public messaging, and neighborhood contrasts are easier to appreciate when the objective encourages observation.

The narrative opportunity is the gap between how a city describes itself and what its streets reveal. That is an interpretation of the premise, rather than a claim about how the quest’s mystery unfolds.

Twelve Minor Arcana Cards Extend Tarot Exploration

Players can discover 12 new Minor Arcana Tarot Cards around Night City. Scanning any one of them activates a new side quest extending Fool on the Hill.

Collecting the complete set earns a special reward. The announcement does not identify that reward, so there is no reason to spoil the hunt with an unsupported claim about its contents.

The Tarot menu also separates Major and Minor Arcana into their own sections, making the collections easier to distinguish.

Glamdocs Let Players Customize Arm Cyberware

Five Glamdocs offer new appearances and customizable colors for Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, and the Projectile Launch System. Players should equip the relevant cyberware and look for the spray-paint icons marking the shops.

Each Glamdoc has a distinct location, an introductory scene with voiceover and animations, and an individual catalog of skins.

This is more specific than a universal cyberware appearance editor. The announced customization concerns those four arm systems.

    Why This Matters for Roleplaying

Visible equipment helps reinforce a character concept during ordinary play. A restrained professional and a mercenary who wants to attract attention might use similar tools while presenting themselves very differently.

For players building a particular look, choosing a small color palette first can help clothing and chrome work together. Check the result in daylight as well as under strong artificial lighting before settling on a combination.

These are cosmetic decisions, but they can make one version of V feel distinct from the last.

New Clothing Sets and Where to Find Them

The update announces five outfit sets in a new clothing collection. Four are identified with vendor locations, while another is scheduled to reach stores later:

    • Maxiwear: Heywood, Arroyo, and Little China.
    • Jinguji: City Center.
    • NetWatch: Kabuki and Japantown.
    • IconAmerica: Pacifica, the Badlands, and Northside.
    • An additional set: Arriving later, with no name or vendor location specified in the announcement.

The NUS Infiltrator clothing set is also available from clothing vendors in Kabuki and Japantown.

These locations are useful starting points for players assembling a new wardrobe. The original announcement does not provide prices, so budgeting around a specific purchase cost would require checking in-game.

    More Hairstyles and Vehicle Customization

Some hairstyles previously restricted to NPCs become available for V. Certain options remain specific to feminine or masculine body types, so the selection will differ between characters.

Four new TWINTONE skins for the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech are offered through Twitch Drops. These are separate from clothing-store purchases; players interested in them should check the campaign’s current participation requirements and availability.

Photo Mode Gets Card Frames and Dual-Wielding Poses

Photo Mode gains frames inspired by the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game, allowing players to present screenshots as custom cards. New poses also showcase the dual-wielding playstyle.

The additions give character-focused photography another direction. A coordinated outfit, cyberware appearance, and pose can help a screenshot communicate a particular version of V.

For a cleaner composition, choose a background that leaves the character’s silhouette readable. Night City offers plenty of visual detail, but a busy scene can compete with the subject.

    Console Mods Arrive Through mod.io

Patch 2.5 introduces Cross-Platform Mod Support powered by mod.io. Players can browse and install a selection of community creations directly from the game menu.

The feature supports PC, Mac, PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. CDPR describes it as an initial step, with more mods planned over time.

For the US console community, the practical benefit is easier access to supported creations. However, this does not mean every modification available through the wider PC ecosystem is now compatible with consoles.

    Modded Saves and Achievements

The Load Game menu marks modded saves with a dedicated icon. On consoles, achievements and trophies cannot be earned while playing from a modded save file.

Players working toward completion should preserve a separate unmodded save before experimenting.

It also helps to introduce changes gradually and read each creator’s instructions. Compatibility requirements and removal procedures can vary, and uninstalling something should not automatically be assumed to reverse everything it changed.

Quality-of-Life Changes Make Saves and Storage Easier to Manage

The Load Game menu now groups saves by playthrough. That should make it easier to distinguish characters instead of searching through one mixed list.

Apartment and vehicle stashes gain item filters, helping players sort stored equipment.

CDPR also updates the account connection, My Rewards, and telemetry consent menus. These are less dramatic changes than a combat perk, but they complete the update’s interface adjustments.

    Consoles Get an FOV Slider

Console players can now adjust field of view.

A wider view can reveal more of the surroundings, while also making distant objects appear smaller. Screen size and seating distance affect that trade-off, so settings that suit a desk monitor may feel different on a living-room television.

Start with a modest adjustment and test walking, aiming, and driving before changing it again. The goal is comfortable movement and readable targets throughout a normal session.

PS5 Pro, Ray Tracing, and Graphics Technology Updates

Patch 2.5 includes general performance optimizations, with specific attention to ray tracing and PlayStation 5 Pro. HDR rendering is also improved for more accurate color, brightness, and contrast on compatible displays.

The announcement does not provide measured frame-rate gains or confirm a particular new graphics mode. Players should judge those improvements through comparisons on their own hardware or equivalent benchmark conditions.

    DLSS 4.5 Support

The update adds DLSS 4.5 support, including:

    • Up to 6X Multi Frame Generation.
    • Dynamic Multi Frame Generation.
    • The second-generation Transformer Model.

These are supported technology options rather than a promise that every PC can use every feature. Available settings depend on compatible hardware and software.

When comparing results, consider responsiveness and image stability alongside displayed FPS. Generated frames and underlying rendering performance describe different parts of the experience.

    AMD FSR Changes

FSR 3 upscaling is removed from the available options. FSR 2.1, FSR 4, and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation remain.

The distinction between upscaling and frame generation is important here: removing the former does not mean every FSR feature carrying a 3.x version number has disappeared.

There is also a settings toggle for FSR Anti-Lag 2.

    Mac and Samsung Display Features

MetalFX Frame Interpolation joins the supported graphics features.

Compatible Samsung Odyssey 3D monitors gain glasses-free 3D effects. A Motion Comfort setting lets users adjust the balance between depth and viewing comfort.

These additions serve particular hardware configurations, so their value will depend on the player’s setup.

    Bug Fixes in Patch 2.5

The update addresses several identifiable problems:

    • Nintendo Switch 2 saving: A fix for the insufficient-space error that could appear when saving.
    • PlayStation 5 HDR: Adjustments to HDR settings should no longer have no effect.
    • Things Done Changed: A Delamain collision could leave the cab stuck and block progression; this is addressed.
    • Film Grain: The setting previously failed to produce its intended effect.
    • Enemy tagging: Certain control schemes could make V crouch or stand when tagging enemies through the scanner.
    • Third-Person Camera: Missing controller settings are restored.
    • Localization: Several typos across different languages are corrected.

CDPR also lists further fixes affecting content and features introduced since Patch 2.1, without detailing each one.

    Where Returning Players Should Start

An existing character is a practical way to sample the update before deciding on another full playthrough.

Check the quest requirements, refresh the controls in a familiar encounter, and explore the customization or mod selection that interests you. A restart becomes more worthwhile when there is a specific character idea behind it.

I’d begin with the new missions, then decide whether the combat options justify building another V. That gives the return some direction without turning the first evening into a long exercise in menus.

Patch 2.5 covers much more than an anime crossover. Its lasting appeal will depend on which additions become part of everyday play: another combat style, a favorite radio station, a more personal character, or an easier way to experiment with the game.
